Royal residences
Within a radius of one hundred kilometres from the centre of Turin it is possible to find the numerous Royal Savoy Residences declared a Unesco World Heritage Site. In the centre of Turin, Palazzo Reale, court residence designed by Castellamonte faces onto the charming Piazza Castello, and behind the façade by Juvarra façade, is Palazzo Madama.
A few hundred metres away is one of the most representative Baroque buildings in Piedmont: Palazzo Carignano, while Castello del Valentino, now home to the Faculty of Architecture of the Polytechnic of Turin, reflects itself in the banks of the River Po. Nearby, Castello di Rivoli is home to the Museum of Contemporary Art while the Reggia di Venaria Reale is a setting of extraordinary architectural charm adorned by the fascinating atmosphere of its gardens.
